We have made it to the weekend folks!! Well some of us got there a day early (me!), but for all of you getting into it tonight, welcome to the party!

Today was my last “mid long” run. I certainly can’t call 12 miles a “long” run, but it’s the farthest I’m going before Boston at this point. I took one look at the forecast for 22 – 40 mph gusty winds and decided I’d rather just hit the treadmill for this one. I watched a few shows and was entertained!
Since it’s Friday, I thought I would share some of my favorites this week.
Shows I’m loving now… I might be sad when I start running outside regularly because I’ll miss my TV shows!
On Netflix – Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. A perfect find after I finally watched all of 30 Rock shows. An odd sense of humor comedy. Love it!
The Royals – this show fills the void left after I finished watching Gossip Girl (as you can tell, I’m just a little behind on watching TV shows! ha) This fits my great interest of celebrity gossipy kind of stuff. I hope this new show continues on for a long time. Such a guilty pleasure to watch this.
New shoes in the mail – Isn’t it the best day ever when a new pair of running shoes arrives?? I’ll have to share my secrets for getting cheap running shoes in another post, but suffice it to say I pay only about 50% or less of the store price on these things! I went to the running store today and they had these exact pair for $175. I got mine for $49 🙂
New socks in the mail – I had a gift certificate for my favorite online running store, Running Warehouse, so I bought some new socks. There was a great sale if I bought 4 pairs so Alan and I each got 2 new pairs. This is my first time with SmartWool socks but I’ve heard great things about them! Sydney is in love with them, so I have to make sure they don’t end up in her sock drawer 🙂
Playing games with my son. Ok, I actually did not like playing this game because it’s really frustrating… and that buzzer is so loud! You know what’s worse – Chutes and Ladders. Don’t even get me started on that one. But in general, it’s pretty great to play games with the kids.
My Runners World Online Forum t-shirt! It’s Boston psych up day, wearing my blue. If you are in Boston next weekend you might see a few of us runners wearing these.
Spring! And finally, the weather being nice enough outside to go roller blading.
Hope you are having a fabulous Friday!

Q: Do you like “no show” running socks, or low cut?
Q: Are you a Chutes and Ladders, or Operation fan?
Q: What is your favorite TV show?

Socks: I like ankle covering socks mostly. Seems to prevent a rubbing feeling to the back of my heel…. might be all mental though
Ok, I agree with your, the operation game can really make the blood boil! When I was little, I was an expert at this game! My son received one for Christmas and I simply stink at the game now! I wonder, has the game changed? Because surely it can’t be that I am old and shaky….lol
The only thing that I watch on TV is “Dancing with the stars” (my favorite show) and Dukes of Hazards (my son’s favorite) I really think that my son is probably the only 5 year old who watches that show!! HA! HA!
I know you must be so stoked about Boston!!!! How exciting!!
Those pink socks are a little lower than I normally wear. We’ll see how they fare.
We have been watching Gillian’s Island episodes with the kids. That was one of my favorites as a kid. I bet my son would also love the Dukes of Hazzard. Jumping from car to car? Who wouldn’t like that!
I do like the pink color of those socks though 🙂
Oh, I love Gillian’s Island!!! Shows back then were the absolute best!
I meant to ask you…. I see you have Newton shoes… have you always worn them? I hear so many good things about them and I am always tempted to order a pair when I am shopping on line! But, I always seem to go with what I know……..
I need all your tips on how to buy cheap shoes! Perfect for a student like me! 🙂
I actually prefer socks that come up a bit more over my ankle, not too much but a little bit makes my calves look much nicer for some reason 🙂
I fail at all board games and have been eternally out off by my sister anihilating me again and again during our childhood 🙂
When I was growing up my next door neighbor had 4 siblings so they had a room with TONS of board games. I think that is where I got my love of them because we played so many different games.
