This should totally happen at the end of every long run I complete….
Wouldn’t that be inspiring?! And then they could give me a big ice cream sundae, so I don’t have to drive myself to get it!
Spring Break week has been a nice relaxing week. After my morning run on Thursday (a slow 5 miles, due to being sore from going to the gym on Wednesday!), we went bowling. It was a perfect day for it too, since it was raining outside! The bowling alley had the ability to put up the bumpers individually for each player, so the kids used the bumpers and weren’t bummed out getting gutter balls, and the adults were challenged without them.
Despite only bowling maybe once a year, I proved I am still a force to reckoned with. Yep, my top game was 111! Not sure how I pulled that off with 6 gutter balls in the first part of the game. Ugggh! Alan was on fire – he bowled a lot of strikes and spares, and beat everyone on both games.
We also learned they will be having Glow Bowling at this place in the summer. That is definitely a must do on our summer list!
Here’s a flash back to Weds… April Fools day – I told my kids someone there were some brownies at work, and I had a few for them. They were a little sad when the opened the container. haha
And the news of the day… I’m STILL waiting for my Boston Marathon Runner’s Passport to arrive. I’m pretty bummed about it since everyone else got theirs already. I’m thinking it got lost in the mail. A neighbor received it and threw it away. SIGH.
Fingers crossed that the mailman brings it tomorrow!! Saturday’s run is an 18 miler with the local running club. It’s their last long run before the local Glass City Marathon. Alan will be running with me. Well, hopefully he will be “running” because he just ran a 30 miler today as part of his training plan for the 100 miler in June.
Alan: “It’s going to be a slow run, right?”
Me: “Sorry, I only have one speed – fast!” π
Q: Do you like the gooey brownies on the inside of the pan, or the crispy stuff around the edges?
A: Gooey all the way!!
Q: Do you bowl? Have you ever been Glow Bowling?
A: My mom used to bowl in a league so I spent a bit of time at the bowling alley. I enjoy bowling quite a bit!! Never Glow bowled.
Q: Any big plans for the weekend – maybe an Easter brunch?
Ok, the Boston Marathon Passport MUST come in the mail tomorrow! No excuses!!… I have my fingers-crossed for you!!!!! And, I will say a tiny prayer to the running Gods that you passport finds it way to your mailbox!!! How exciting to be awaiting such an outstanding package!!!!! But yes, a bummer when others are receiving them already……..
Bowling?!? Man, an all time favorite activity of mine… although I don’t get to bowl as often as I would like! And GLOW bowling?!? How cool!!! Definitely on the “Must Do” summer list….. I may have to make a suggestion to our local bowling alley………. hmmmmm, yes, I will call tomorrow π
OMG!!!! So funny on the ‘Brown – Es” …. I bet the expression on their faces was priceless!!!! LOVE IT! I am taking notes for next year….. so have to do this to my husband and so…..hmmm, maybe even to my co-workers!!! LOL! π
I’ve made some really cool faux food in April Fool’s day of the past, but it seemed to sneak up on me this year. So, that was a pretty good one for a limited amount of work!
I like my brownies with crunchy edges and a gooey middle! Best of both worlds.

Let’s be honest – I wouldn’t turn down a plate of crunchy chocolate anything really!! π
I like the crunchy edges! That was an awesome April fools prank! Hope the passport came today…do you have issues with receiving the wrong mail? We do. I’ve called the post office, talked to the mail carrier, AND left notes in our mailbox!ugh!
I’m getting ready to send out an email to the whole neighborhood in search of it! Being in charge of the HOA mailings has it’s perks. haha!
Oh, and I also enjoyed the video. I’ve often wondered what would happen if I started running along side a stranger….would I make a friend or would they tell me to get lost by cranking up their ear bud volume and ignoring me?
I love your family bowling date! You guys always look like you’re having a great time! I am weirdly good at bowling, last time I got five strikes in a row- my male friend who I beat by a large amount was quite upset! π
Love your reply to Alan, so awesome π
I definitely prefer gooiness in brownies too π

Wow, you kicked some butt on that bowling date! It’s such a great feeling when you bowl a strike or spare. Not so much when you know it’s heading for the gutter!
I totally LOVE that video!!!!!!!! That would be the best run ever! I think I would probably cross the “finish line” crying! Awesomeness!!!!
I love the crispy brownies π I could eat the brownies edges all day!

It did inspire me to cheer for my husband as he finished his 30 miler yesterday. The kids and I were outside with pom-poms and everything when he came to the house… but of course he still had to run another half mile to get 30 miles so he ran right past us down our street! Too funny!
