Random running this week!  I looked at my Google calendar on Monday and realized I was supposed to run 5 miles!  Well too bad, I didn’t feel like running!  I ran a solid race on Sunday, so I took the day off!  Also, we dropped my son off for 6th grade camp at school and he’ll be gone for a whole week!  My run just didn’t fit into my schedule ๐Ÿ™‚

He was at camp all week!  I missed him ๐Ÿ™

As for running, I took things easy this week to make sure I’m feeling good [i.e., not tweaking my hamstring/glute strain] before Columbus.  My plan also said 400 m intervals on Tuesday.  NOPE.  It didn’t happen. But I did run a few miles outside just to get used to outdoor running again. Feels like I haven’t run outside in forever!

Thursday night was Toledo Roadrunners club meeting and 5K.  Sydney raced it and got a new PR. Sub 23 mins!! I just ran “however” and came in at 26:05. We all got a pair of socks as awards ๐Ÿ™‚

By the way, if you are in the area and are not a Toledo Roadrunner member, you really should be.  This event is a 5K race and we got dinner… for only $8!  Yep, $8 for the whole family.  You can’t beat those deals!

Here’s the kicker – I didn’t push it during the 5K, but sure enough the top of my foot hurt when I got home. Seriously?? Why now, and not from the 10k last weekend?? The running Gods work in mysterious ways. Always at the inappropriate times too!

I have iced my foot a few times and I think it will be OK by Sunday morning. At least I sure hope so!! We are on the way down to Columbus right now to get our race swag, then maybe a stop at the hotel, and then out to dinner with friends. Should be a great weekend!

The temperature will be around 60 at the start, which is a little warmer than it usually is this time of year, so I’ll definitely be wearing a tank top and shorts. Hoping for some race day magic!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!! Think of me and Alan in Sunday morning ๐Ÿ™‚ He’s running the full.
