I did it! I spent my Monday evening registering my whole family for the Yark Subaru Glass City Marathon relay, and myself in the Owens Corning Glass City half marathon! There were a lot of race confirmation emails hitting my inbox! But I didn’t want to pass up that great deal GCM was offering on Cyber Monday, so no time like the present. I have a feeling that the “Willford Wonders” will rock this race!!
If you didn’t get signed up yet and are still looking for that free bib, Dean is hosting this week’s race entry giveaway —> here. There will be a giveaway each week until the end of the year, so keep giving it a try!
Did you know it’s Giving Tuesday? The Glass City Marathon supports a number of local causes. In fact, 100% of the proceeds from registration to the Findley Davies Kid’s Marathon goes to Mercy Health -Children’s Hospital. (my kids love that event!!) If you’d like to celebrate Giving Tuesday, you can head over here to help support one or more of the 13 official charities partnered with the race. Your generosity will be appreciated 🙂

How about you?….
Q: Did you partake in Black Friday shopping, wait until Cyber Monday, or both??
Once upon a time (pre kids!) I would get out there at 3am for a deal, but now I’d just rather sleep 🙂
Q: Have you run a relay before?
I’m very excited to be enjoying this event with my family!!
Can’t wait to run the relay. I’m half glad that you talked me out of running the full since it will be 6 short days after Boston. Probably won’t be in any shape to do another 26.2 miles that soon. And we still get pizza and beer at the end right?
That’s the beauty of it, medals, pizza, beer, and the kid’s beer tickets!! 😉
Extra beer tickets – winning!
Oh that’s so exciting! Family relay sounds adorable 🙂
I’ve never run a relay but I think it would be really fun to do a Ragnar someday! I wish we could coordinate one with all of our run blogger friends!
Kristina recently posted…Random Tuesday Matters
I too want to do a Ragnar! But which one? So many choices!
We all picked out names on our Willford Wonders team. Teaser, I’ll blog about this later.
I’ve ran the Relay 3 times. I have ran leg 2, leg 4 and leg 5. Loved it. All three times we were in the family division. It’s a great time!
That’s cool!! I’m hoping to be able to finish the half and maybe catch up with our relay driver somewhere on the course so I can see my kids at an exchange point. Otherwise, I’ll be greeting them at the finish line. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun!! Too bad the race shirts aren’t in kids sizes, but at least the medal will always fit 🙂
I’ve also ran two 1/2’s and will be running my first Full at GCM in April! Good luck! Love your posts!
Thanks!! And good luck to you on your first full – that’s huge!
I have never done a relay – I bet it will be great! That is fun you get to run with family 🙂
My hubby did some black friday shopping, I slept lol
Hopefully he was shopping for you 🙂
