We recently went to the water park at Cedar Point. Formerly Soak City, now rebranded as Cedar Point Shores. They did add some new attractions at the water park, like the one I have to tell you about… Point Plummet.
Plummet. Yes, Plummet.
Not sure if I’ve ever mentioned this before or not, but I actually have not stepped foot in a water park since my senior year of high school… until I had kids. I feared water parks. I had a completely frightening and humiliating incident on a tube body slide in Daytona Beach which made me feel like I was drowning (on the ride down the tube slide) and humiliated when I was dumped at the end wearing half my bikini, trying to figure out where the bottoms ended up with the super wedgie that was occurring. No teenager enjoys that experience!!!
But I digress. Oh, and I’m also claustrophobic. So dark tubes are not my idea of fun. But no matters, this new tube slide on the kids summer “to do” list, so we were doing it. Well, at least that’s what my family said. I wasn’t so sold on the idea, but I tried to put on a good show and be brave.
Here’s a quick video of the ride…
Actually, the free fall drop wasn’t as bad as I expected. It went so fast, there was no time to be scared. Looking back, I thought the free fall was actually the fun part of the ride!
The rest of the slide went by pretty quick too because I was counting the whole time. I knew it was going to take between 13 and 18 seconds to get to the end, so I focused on that.
One bad thing though – the tube actually put a small rip in the back of Sydney’s bathing suit top!! Both of our backs also got scratched up from the ride down too.
It was a bit much for me, so I think I’m pretty safe in saying that I won’t be riding it again. But who knows, maybe the kids will!

Q: Do you like tube water slides?
Q: Have you been on this ride yet??
Q: If given the choice would you go on the lazy river or a body slide?
Well now I feel like I’m a Hippocrates because as you know, I love water slides but there are certain kinds I won’t go on! The way the ppintbplummet ends… like there’s no pool at the bottom. I don’t do slides like that. I don’t do the Steep speed slides either. I’m more of the kind of gal that liked the moderate slides with intertubes that you go down. Water parks are actually really dangerous! I’m so sorry you have that scary and humiliating experience as a teenager. 🙁

I definitely prefer the kind with tubes to ride on! It is surprising more people don’t get hurt at those parks.
Q: Do you like tube water slides? YES! Who doesn’t? I’m terrified of heights so walking the stairs almost always results in a panic attack but yes! Same for coasters.
Q: Have you been on this ride yet?? So funny story. We were there Sunday with my German host family. Abby, Nikki, and I went to get in line as it was quiet yet. Guy told me I had to take off my Garmin. Cool, no problem. Abby and Nikki went on without me, I went and took off the Garmin. By the time I got back to the tubes they had already gone (Expected). Abby wanted to go again so we climbed the steps, waited, and when it was our turn I step into the tube and look over at Abby who is now completely freaking out and won’t get in. I WAS IN THE TUBE AND HAD ALREADY LOOKED DOWN! Stepped out of the tube, grabbed her, and walked back down all those lovely steps. So no, I’ve physically touched the tube and stood in it, but haven’t taken the plunge yet.
Q: If given the choice would you go on the lazy river or a body slide? Slides! The lazy river and rapid rivers tore up my feet and knees this weekend! I wasn’t in the tube properly but I am still blaming them.
