What’s one of the best things about the holiday season?  Christmas lights! And what’s one of our favorite summer activities?  Riding roller coasters! So when those favorites are put together, you can be sure that my family will be there!

Winterfest is a holiday event at Kings Island in Mason Ohio.  Since we have a season pass to Cedar Point this year, we also get admission to Kings Island.  We visited there this past summer, but never for this event. Luckily the weather was beautiful when we visited and we got to enjoy this winter event!

In addition to the many, many lights and displays, there were indoor performances going on.  This one kept us entertained while we had dinner.

We got to make snow angels (the warm way)!

We found Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree 🙂

The Eiffel Tower was a focal point of the park, supporting the star and a bazillion lights.

And guess what?  They were running one of my favorite roller coasters in the park, Mystic Timbers!  You would think it would be frigid riding a coaster in November, but it turned out to be a bit warmer than I expected.  It was super extra awesome because there were no lights on the coaster! You had no idea what turn was coming next. My throat was hoarse from screaming and laughing so hard.  Crazy fun!!!!

They also had the indoor “arcade shooting”ride open.  I think the guns are always broken because my score is always pathetic.  Just saying. Another way to warm up was the hot chocolate. Delicious!

If you ever get the chance to visit Winterfest, my family highly recommends it! My husband makes the best snowman, don’t you think? 😉

Q:  Do they have any parks or zoos that are decorated with lights in your area?

The Toledo Zoo also decorates for Christmas.  Walking around the zoo is another one of our favorite traditions!
