Thought I would share some of the great pictures from our vacation. If you’ve never been there, Colorado is a little bit of heaven on Earth. It is just breath taking and the views are spectacular in all directions!
Even more so when you are up in the mountains skiing. I know hills never look steep in pictures, but the ski runs are epic!!
Vail is the grand daddy of them all, and it never disappoints. Until they charge $11 for a chili dog. And $9 for a plain hot dog! Granted, it’s a foot long dog, and we are soaking in all of the beauty of the mountains, dining in the fresh air… but still. We just dropped $25 on parking for the day, can’t we make the hot dogs a little cheaper? 🙂 Only in Vail!
Even the gondolas were fun!
We got to see the Burton US Open snowboarding finals. These are top notch athletes!
We skied above the tree line on the continental divide. We were not scared by Extreme Terrain. The whole family rocked it.
We ate a lot of great food.

The kids got to sleep in a really cool hole in the wall. I mean, loft.
So, to sum it up – our trip was….
Hope you enjoyed this super brief recap. I totally love our annual ski trip with the kids. I’m so glad they have grown up skiing and love the sport. It’s something our family can do together for a long time. So many great memories.
******************* Questions for you… **********************
Q: Have you ever skied in Summit County, Colorado? If so, which resort is your favorite?
I have loved them all so far. I think Loveland is a hidden (and affordable!) gem. They even have free snowcat skiing. We didn’t get to do that when we visited, but it is on our list for next time!!
Q: Have you ever been “cat” skiing?
Q: Is there a sport that your family all enjoys together?
Q: Do you typically take a vacation in the summer or the winter?
WOW this trip looks seriously amazing. Those hotdogs …. yum! They look worth the price with all those yummy toppings.
The loft with the ladder is super cool, I’m sure the kids loved that. Seems like something I would have went nuts for as a kid!
I think we are too spoiled by getting the Sam’s Club value meal, refillable drink & hot dog, for $1.80!! 🙂 The guy in front of us spent $22 on Gatorade for his family… 4 drinks. So yeah, it could have been worse! 🙂
I was just a little concerned about the loft because my son randomly sleep walks, but luckily no issues! Yes, the kids LOVED that part of the condo. A pretty smart way to add an extra sleeping space!
It’s amazing how good of skiers the kids are now. Almost makes me forget about all those seasons spent with them on the bunny hill with all the tears from the frustration (mostly mine)!
Those were some long days on the slopes with the beginner skiers for sure. It definitely paid off!
Its funny how they used to fall and then blame us! Now they just laugh, get up, and snap their boots back in the skis and get back to skiing. Much more enjoyable!
We looooove Colorado because of the beautiful scenery! I used to ski but not anymore. I must enjoy the mountains by hiking and trail running. I’m glad you and your family had such a fab trip! 🙂
One of these years we’ll get to the mountains when it’s not winter. So beautiful all year round!!
