Today felt like a short day because I was rushing from one thing to another all day long! First, knocked my 9 mile run out of the way. ALWAYS a great way to start the day. But still, that 5:10 alarm felt really early! No surprise, another 2 hour school delay for the kids. So, one kid got on the bus eventually, and the other had to come to work with me for an hour until I could drive him to school. Thus far this week, I’ve had to take 2 hours of vacation time to make up for transportation to and from school. Still, it’s better than paying for daycare, so I’m good with that 🙂

Today I was feeling a bit sassy. Put together the “rebel banker” look. Complete with black boots. It was comfortable, I’ll have to wear it again sometime! Today’s random fact – I actually sewed that skirt myself at least 15 years ago, when I used to work at the bank full time, and I actually used to sew!
After working my morning at my job, and then hopping over to the bank for the afternoon work shift, I headed home only to find my son forgot his folder at school. But it was also chess practice night at 5:30, so we made a quick stop at school first, before chess.
On my trip to work, my low fuel light came on. Normally that freaks me out to see that. But it said I had 42 miles left, so I thought I’d take my chances. It never seemed like a good time to stop and get gas. So, on the way to chess the miles went down to nothing! Uh oh. Must make a gas stop immediately!!
While chess was going on I stopped and got a hair cut. And, a stop at the grocery store. Chess is 90 mins long, so a Thursday night grocery trip might just fit in nicely to my busy weeks without cutting into my gym time! Win! Another win was the party in my card.
Things were looking up right before chess pick up when this tune came on. A perfect excuse to chill for a moment and turn the volume up!
Homework time after chess, and *finally* it was time to just sit down, have some pizza and beer with Alan, and relax!! But, by 9:30, I was barely staying awake and needed to get to bed. Have to be prepared for the long run tomorrow!
Q: Do you frequently let your low fuel indicator turn on?
A: Heck NO! I very rarely see it. It makes me very nervous!
Q: Do you know how to sew?
Ha! I got the low fuel warning last night and didn’t refuel until 20 minutes ago. It’s a game for me to see how far I can go. I’ll have to tell you about the time I ran out of gas in Swanton with my brother. And, yes I can sew, but can’t read a pattern well. My baby blankets are cherished gifts (I think) at showers!
No no no. That is so wrong to tempt fate like that with your gas!!!
Are you kidding? I don’t normally get gas until 20 miles after my low fuel light goes on!
I know for a fact you are the worst offender of ignoring that gas light. Just not right!
So cool that you made that skirt!! It looks awesome! 🙂 haha I am the worst for letting my low fuel light come on, petrol is so expensive in NZ and I used to go into denial and drive around all the time refusing to spend even more money on it haha. I got really good at knowing how far to push it, but I don’t recommend it! 🙂
