Here’s how I spent my Saturday morning. Icing my face, and pondering the great mysteries of life with Zoe.
Then I decided it was time to get dressed, and then I’d feel better. A shower and some makeup always does wonders!! Look at my face… starting to expand and bruise!
It was a beautiful day and we got to watch my son’s soccer team win. Great job boys! Then, it was back to the location I had spent the last three days in. At least it was comfortable, and has a great view!
Saturday night brought on another 3am wake up, feeling like someone had smashed me in the face with a brick again. But this time I didn’t take the Excedrin because I was afraid I wouldn’t go back to sleep! I put some ice on it and eventually fell back to sleep. But when I woke up, my face had swollen up even more, looked droopy, and the bruise was now black and purple!! I am certainly not winning on this one.
But I am now able to put a heat compress on it to reduce the swelling, which it did to some extent. Unfortunately Alan had to go to work for a special project today so we didn’t get to see him all day. I couldn’t stand being inside in such beautiful weather today (80 degrees!), so I took the kids to the park and watched them play (I need to rest!). I think this was right before one of them jumped off and then the other one accused them of trying to knock out their teeth or something close to that.
And we just had to make a stop at the ice cream stand on the way home, since we were driving past it… yeah scary smile!!
That pretty much wraps up my weekend. And ironically I had a bunch of stuff I was going to do on the computer, and read, and I barely got through any of it! Oh well. I’m thinking the worst of my mouth issues are over now, because they said the swelling should peak at 48-72 hours. My face will be looking pretty awesome for work tomorrow. Better wear some bright shoes to draw the attention away from my face. 🙂

Q: Have you ever had major dental work done?
A: Outside of this being done, and the other side of my mouth having it done 2 years ago, I haven’t.
Q: How’s the weather where you live?
Q: Teeter totters… old fashion fun or a broken tooth just waiting to happen?
A: I think they require a great deal of trust… which my kids haven’t exactly mastered yet!!
oh no.!! sorry about the face. that’s the worst place to have a bruise at. My daughter has a bruise on her face also. She got kicked in the face by a kid at the park 🙁 makes me sad. lol. those parks can be dangerous, chipped teeth and kicked in the face. haha.
looks like a good time though 🙂
Oh wow, they sure are dangerous! Poor kid 🙁 That teeter totter was a lot like when the kids want to wrestle with Daddy. It always ends in tears (sometimes Daddy gets hurt too!!).
oh WOW!!! That looks so painful!!!!! 🙁 But I have to say you are amazing!!! Although you may have lounged around a little, you went to the park and such!!! I am glad to hear that you are out of the worse part and on your way to recovery!!! Praying it is a speedy recovery for you!!!!
No major dental surgery, but I did have a skin cancer removed from my right upper forehead area…. when it swelled afterwards, it looked like a BIG goose egg!!!! There was no hiding it even with a hat!!!
Take care!!!!!!
My husband said I looked like the Walking Dead. 🙂 I’m just hoping the swelling goes down a bit faster. My face is round enough, I don’t need any more!
