Can you hear that? Tick, tick, tick…. yep, the shit just got real. Today I saw this on my iPhone
Whoa, double whammy!! Last minute marathon instructions AND Boston registration begins? Oh man. The pressure!! The fear!! The excitement!!!!
I know you’re thinking, “why Lisa, haven’t you been looking at that awesome countdown widget on your blog?? It says only 4 more days and 15 hours!” Apparently I do not.
Time to start making lists of what to pack, what to wear, how to best not annoy my pacer to death (thanks Alan!), and come up with an awesome race.
I can do great things 🙂

Q: When in need of motivation, what phrase do you use?
“Shut up and keep running”. Oh wait, that’s what my husband tells me! (just kidding)
Q: Do you like to obsess about race weather?
No! I guess that’s why I felt unprepared for the chilly rain at Boston this year! I didn’t think that was even on the radar (literally!)
When I topped Heartbreak Hill, I was toast, but I kept telling myself to
“Push the pain away. Push it away. Push it away.” and it actually worked. The rest of the way I just kept repeating that phrase, “Push it. Push it.” As for the weather, yes, I start 14 days out and I check it several times a day right up until race morning. Usually, the forecast IMPROVES as you get closer to race day, but Boston this year was different. It started out crap and went downhill from there.
So Boston 2016 weather HAS to be better, right? 🙂
GAH! SHIT TOTALLY GOT REAL!!!! Heart Palpitations commence! LOL!

Cue the nervous sweat too! 😉
That is funny because I looked at your countdown just yesterday!
When I get in a tough spot in a race I sat out loud “I am DOING this.” I don’t care who around me hears it. It makes me feel powerful!

I’m obviously not looking at my countdown because it said “Eric” instead of “Erie”. Duh! So, that issue has been corrected. #lameatwordpress That’s a good mantra you have. I will remember that one!
I’ve been so caught up with work that I haven’t paid much attention to my personal email – but when I saw your Boston email I had to check! Ahhhh! I can’t believe registration is opening on MONDAY! YAY!
Good luck this weekend! I’ll be thinking of you and sending you speedy vibes!
Thanks, I’ll be needing those vibes! My husband gets to register on Monday. Lucky guy! Will that be your registration time too?
I’m bringing a cow bell and will be ringing it anytime you slow down on the race!
So exciting….. just a couple days left!!!!!!! WOOT! WOOT! you got this!!!!! Your south Georgia fan is rooting you on!!!!
Thanks!! I’ll be thinking of you, using your positive vibes!
