We started out our day with a neighborhood 5K. This is the 2nd year for this event, and I was excited to be invited! The whole family ran, and I gotta say, we did quite well! I know this was just a fun neighborhood run… but get my family in race mode – I mean, how can we not be in race mode because we all had bibs!!!! – then the competition gets kicked up a notch.
My husband won (!) in 19:55. My daughter came in 4th 24:59 (first female!) and I was 5th (first woman masters!) in 25:02 (DANG, why couldn’t I have gone 3 seconds faster?????).
My son also did an impressive 26:33! I can give the course a 5 star rating for 1) close to home, 2) perfect weather, 3) well organized, 4) super flat course, 5) post race food and drinks were exceptional and 6) great race atmosphere including meet & greet with many neighbors!!!!!
We even got medals. Thumbs up to the race organizers!! I look forward to next year’s event.
After our neighborhood race my family went to our local Metropark for a leisurely run. The goal was to find 5 deer, but we only saw 4. However, the first one we saw was so impressive I think he qualifies as two deer!
Do you even see the three deer in this picture?? They were just standing in the brush looking at us.

Well, gotta “run” now to get our Thanksgiving meal cooked! I hope are spending this holiday with loved ones. I am thankful for my family, health, and the great times we have together.
