What crazy weather we had this week! Fleece tights and short sleeve shirts were both in the running rotation this week. I ran 40 miles this week but I’ve got some issues going on which make me nervous.
Mon – 8 miles, intervals. This run had 5 miles of 800m intervals. It was exciting to see an 8:xx on my intervals. yippie!

Tues – 5 easy miles. I just finished “No Good Deed” on Netflix. Did anyone else watch that? It was a good show and I look forward to another season! Glad I got those miles in because it’s Fat Tuesday and my coworkers brought in paczkis. Mine was Nutella. I do prefer donuts, but I won’t say no to this annual treat!

2 more miles running! Yes, I ran a few miles after work: 1) it was 56 degrees and I wanted to enjoy that weather. 2) see above picture. However, this run felt downright awful! I am not a fan of afternoon running and this felt like a bloated slogfest (probably due to the above picture!). But hey, the daily dose of fresh air was perfect. We also got our hot water tank working again after a week of cold water, so a hot post-shower run felt amazing!

Weds – Rest day!
Thurs – 6 miles, treadmill. It was really windy out so I opted for the treadmill.
We went to an afternoon movie. Surprisingly the theatre was empty! 🤣 Paddington in Peru was good.

Fri – 17 miles, long run. It was a great day for it. I started out wearing a jacket but quickly realized I was overdressed. I went back home and changed clothes. Unfortunately that added a bit of extra mileage so my 16 mile run turned into 17 miles. It felt good though – better than last week’s run. I saw an animal along the shore which I think was a mink!

Right after that we picked up our son from college – almost 7 hours in the car. Luckily my legs felt good.
Sat – 2 easy miles. We woke up to a beautiful snowy wonderland and I could not resist getting outside in that! It was just a slow recovery run but afterwards I noticed the inside of my leg felt tight and sore. Hey wait a minute, that’s how my awful injury started last year around this time. Ugggh. I’m not so happy about that. Special caution will be needed on that situation.

In the afternoon we boarded a plane for Colorado. Spring Break is underway!
Sun – fingers crossed our old bodies hold up today and this week. I’m still wearing a knee brace for extra ski support and Alan still has questionable issues from his running injury last week. But the important part is quality time with our son. Let the vacation begin!! View from our condo…

Need some more inspiration? I’m linking up with Deborah at Confessions of a Mother Runner and Kim from Running on the Fly for their Weekly Run Down. Check out all of the fun blogs there!
Oh, I hope your leg issue goes away quickly and isn’t a cloud over your vacation!
Same!! Thanks 🙂
I somehow missed your post last week- so Alan rolled his ankle? Ugh! Well- maybe a week of skiing and very little running is what you both need. Is your daughter going too? I’m envious you get to spend so much time with your college kids!!!
That view from your condo is amazing! Oh, and i usually have a lot of trouble getting started when I do an afternoon run. I don’t know why my legs think running is only a morning activity!
Nope, just our son on this trip. Her spring break was last week and she went to Florida with her friends! Not quite as warm as she hoped, but they had fun.
Seriously, tell that pain on the inside of your leg to go away. You do not need that right now!
We’ve seen a mink (or maybe a weasel?) along the creek behind our house twice. He was really cute!
Have fun on your ski trip and enjoy your time with your son!
Now that I research it, maybe it was a weasel! I didn’t see the belly color but the reddish color was there. Hmmmm! I swear it’s always something on my body that hurts. So lame!
Oooh hope your leg feels better. We did not love no good deed. Just finished Paradise on Hulu and Zero Day. Have fun skiing!
Looks like you got more snow than we will get, but we are enjoying the sunny slopes here today!
Back on slopes again! Yay! I hope your leg behaves.
We liked No Good Deed! Kind of dark but entertaining. We’re watching White Lotus on HBO.
Do you have any discount codes for Glass City? One of my friends wants to sign up.
I can’t wait to watch White Lotus this season! I don’t have any discount codes ☹️ but heck, I might have a bib for the full for sale! (Mine or my husband’s?) Well, I’ll wait a few weeks to make that decision.
Great job on the 17 miles! Even with the extra mile. I don’t love donuts or paczkis but I wouldn’t mind a Nutella one. Yum!
The Nutella flavor was a surprise. I thought it was going to be a chocolate one!
fingers crossed that your leg is not injured!!
Have fun on the slopes.
I want to see Paddington in Peru!!
Yes, go see Paddington. Funny and cute!
You’ve had a busy (late) winter! I hope the leg issue resolves itself. The only Mardi Gras stuff in my life (this year) was my party last weekend and lots of beads. I did wear green and purple, so there’s that. Enjoy your trip!
My family didn’t even know it was Mardi Gras. I guess it wasn’t really hyped up around here!
I hope Alan is ok and that your vacation is fun all the same!
I love going to the movies during the day, especially when the theater is empty. I also don’t mind going alone. The next movie I want to see is Death Of A Unicorn at the end of the month.
Have the best time!
