Ah vacation!! I just got back from being on vacation for 10 days. Heck, we were “on holiday”! We were in Mexico, on the beach, and out of internet access for 10 days!! Well, mostly out of internet access. I did pop over to the “free wifi” hours at the lobby a couple of times just to check in on everything.
Our kitties were under the care of a very trusting friend, and she also checks on the house and makes sure everything is in order. Great friends like that are a treasure!!
The kitties were very happy to see us when we got home, but the funny thing was, I think Facebook missed me more!! Have you ever been away from Facebook for an extended period? It’s weird. You start getting emails about people who are your friends, but not necessarily someone you’d pay attention to or have conversations with on a regular basis. Facebook sends you teaser emails – “Did you see what Rachael commented on Mike’s picture?” “Kaylee just posted a status update” “Dan liked a picture!”.
Really?? Facebook is such an instigator to pull you back into it’s web of social activity. So fear not, if I ever turned up missing from a trip, Facebook would be the first to know.
I’ll post some pictures and recaps of trip when the dust settles for me. Trying to purge my inbox of the 694 new emails I had, and see if I missed anything important. I’m still wading through all of the clothes I threw on the floor (rejects) while packing, the clothes I need to put away from my trip, and my carry on bag that’s packed full of entertainment items. It’s not a pretty sight at my house! At least I could find my makeup and hairbrush. My coworkers are thankful for that 🙂
I do have some exciting Ambassador news to share with you later this week, so please stop back soon!

Q: Did you get to go on a summer vacation?
Q: Facebook relationship – addicted, happily involved, or just a casual interest?
I find that I’m more involved in Facebook groups these days rather than my actual Facebook profile that everyone sees. I love staying in touch with everyone, but dislike when I spend too much time doing it!!
Q: Do you do a good job packing for trips?
I suck at packing! We always end up waiting until the last minute (packing the night before the trip!!), then I scramble to find outfits that match. I really really really need to learn from my past mistakes!!!
Marathon training has eaten my whole summer. Next year, I am NOT spending my summer stressing out over mileage, weather, and injuries. After September 17th, I am going to become a casual runner again. My vacation will be running this damn marathon and hopefully qualifying to RUN Boston and not just REGISTER for Boston! Our running club uses FB to keep everyone informed of the running schedule and upcoming events. Otherwise, I would just delete my account. I find myself spending way too much time looking at crap that I really couldn’t care less about. I never carry more than a backpack. i have become pretty efficient at cramming a few days worth of clothes and assorted stuff in there and I hang my running shoes off a hook in the back.
I hear ya – this is the first summer in five years that I haven’t been training for a marathon I think. (And, it shows in my vacation pictures!! Maybe too many trips to that all inclusive buffet)
I’m crossing my fingers for you that your race goes well, and you stay injury free the rest of the training cycle!!
When it comes to packing, my OCD takes over. I usually lay out my suitcase in a spare bedroom about two weeks before any major trip. I put one or two things in each day. I’m usually completely packed at least two days before I leave. Don’t hate me!!! Lol.
WOW!! I do put a suitcase out, and toss a few things in, but other than that I would forget what I put in there and need to keep checking it! There are so many things I use daily that I can’t pack much ahead of time. Yep, that’s my story and I”m sticking to it 😉
Welcome home!!! I hope your trip was so awesome. Facebook is super sneaky. I have been posting more than I have been reading. I get a lot of news off fb. I love packing!! I don’t mean to brag but I do think I’m good at it. 🙂 can’t wait to hear more about tour trip
I don’t think I’ve ever said “love” and “packing” in the same sentence! haha!! I think the biggest challenge is taking only the things I really need. We usually just check 2 bags for the whole family so we have to be selective. Of course Alan and I both need running shoes, clothes and running gear, so that takes up part of our allowance! Wish every airline still had free luggage.
The Overwhelming amount of emails is my pet peeve with notifications. It is crazy trying to weed through them.
I hope you had a wonderful time on vacation, I was gone a week in June and it went too fast.
So many emails!! Every day I vow to unsubscribe from 5 emails that I don’t need. I never get around to doing it, but someday I really will! But how would I know about a great sale on things I don’t really need??
The pictures from your trip were beautiful! Looked like a great one.
I’d like to know how we book a trip 3 months in advance and then literally finish packing 10 minutes before leaving for the airport!
We didn’t book until June 1st. We are procrastinators at everything!!
