Do you ever get on a roll and sign up for ALL the races?  It started innocently enough with a reminder on my calendar to get early pricing registration for the party of the fall, Churchill’s half marathon.  Glass City is the party for the spring, and Churchills in the fall. I truly love Churchill’s race because I have so much fun seeing my friends along the course and at the party tent afterwards. (see last year’s recap here)

But before I signed up for Churchills, Zach had the great luck of winning a free race entry to the Jeep 4 Miler on Sunday!   Dave’s Running was putting on their weekly Metropark Monday event and it happened to be cookout night. They supply the burgers & brats, everyone else bring along a dish to share.  Well, I can spy an opportunity for my family to run, and for me not to cook, so that was the dinner plan on Monday 🙂

They also have great giveaways, and that’s where Zach won the race entry!  And who better to join Zach at this Run Toledo race? Why me, Run Toledo Ambassador, of course!  So I signed up for that race too. Race registration #2 of the night.  The race is in downtown Toledo, and we might have a little bit of elevation change on this one!

The Jeep 4 Miler is a new race for Toledo.  If you didn’t know, Toledo is the hometown of Jeep, and this year they are having a weekend celebration (Jeep Fest) of the vehicle and company.  This race will be Sunday morning. The first 500 entries will get this cool medal with headlights that really light up!! Nice!

Then I also saw a reminder about a fun race close to my house on Saturday – the Runaway Bride 5k!  You might remember me from last year cruising around in my old bridesmaid dress. Sadly I only have one bridesmaid dress, so I’m most likely wearing it again for this race… depending on the weather.  This race was actually a “comeback” race for me last year, after I was having a lot of hamstring issues.  It will be interesting to see how I feel this year.  Race registration #3 for the night!

Oh, and then Alan had to register for Churchill’s too, so that made Race registration #4 of the evening.  Time to put away my credit card.  But for the rest of you, come join me at these races!!  It will be a good time.

Q:  Is anyone else running any of these Toledo events?

Q:  What’s on your race calendar for the weekend, or coming up soon?

Q:  Ladies – how many weddings have you been a part of?

I have only been a bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding.   I was a flower girl at my aunt’s wedding when I was kid too.  I felt like a princess that day 🙂

  1. You guys are going to be busy little racing bees! I like to pencil in races and then sign up at the last minute. I might run the Half Wit Half Marathon (trail) in Reading, PA this weekend! We’ll see if I feel like it hahahaha.

    1. It’s nice to have lower cost options for races where you can sign up race day. I have several races I know I need to lock in early or they are crazy expensive. Luckily I’ve only had to DNS at one race so far. Knock on wood! Good luck if you do decide to run!

    1. I think Zach and I will have a pretty good time running together. Hope he’s not disappointed I’m so slow!! Then we can brag with our medals to the others who aren’t running in my family 😉

  2. Hey Lisa 🙂 I’m just catching up on your blog. So sorry that you got a bad experience with your hair. Honestly I didn’t think you looked bad in the pictures. But nobody better than yourself to know if there’s something off with your hair. If it was me the one who got the wrong color, I’d be very upset.

All of these races look like so much fun! I don’t have any races in my calendar for the next couple of months as I’m traveling back and forth from FL to TX. But can’t wait for my next big race which is coming up in December.

I was de ring bearer on my uncle’s wedding back when I was 3 or 4. So far that’s the only wedding I’ve been part of besides my own wedding.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
