When I was cleaning up my email this week, I ran across an email that made me laugh. It was from Redbox. I recently “discovered” Redbox. I know it’s been around for a while now, but I wasn’t sure how the process worked, so I avoided it. I finally got brave and gave it a try. Seriously, why would I be afraid to try out Redbox?? The machines looked intimidating. There, I said it. Anyhow, we’ve used it several times now and I think it’s actually quite convenient. We do pay for Netflix streaming and DVD delivery, and now I think we might just drop the DVD service because of using Redbox!
But this is all just background on my email…. to get back on track, I received an email from Redbox when I was on vacation. I started to read the email in disbelief…
… Are they kidding me?? Do they actually think people will gather ’round the Redbox machine to watch a movie? First date??
Then I remembered – the date is April 1st. April Fools Day.
Good one Redbox, you got me!!
Another fun thing we saw that day was on the slopes at Whistler. They have signs at the chairlifts where people write messages and it said:
Happy Easter! New for 2018-2019:
No more RFID Passes. Implants in your left arm!
For your convenience, surge pricing when we’re busy!
I did think the first item was actually feasible, and didn’t think much of it when I read it. The surge pricing actually made me mad though. I actually said out loud “why would they think it’s a good idea to tell people they are jacking the prices during busy periods??”. Everyone already thinks ski lift ticket pricing is crazy overpriced. And then I remembered the date again. Teeheehee.

Q: Did any one prank you on April Fools day, aka Easter Sunday? (I know, it was a long time ago!!)
Q: Do you use Redbox?
Q: Do you use Netflix?
Netflix has some great series now (Stranger Things!), but sometimes we have to limit our streaming due to a download cap with our internet provider. Unfortunately we don’t have better option for our internet provider right now with unlimited data. Sucks!
LOL these are hilarious. 🙂 I didn’t get fooled on April Fools Day but I think being a teacher, I am on high alert!
An acquaintance of mine once posted on FB that she was pregnant on April Fools Day. A LOT of people believed her and they were very, very, mad when she said it was a joke. They said it was too serious of a thing to be joking about. Not sure my opinion on that subject, I’m not the joke police!
Hmmm, I’m not sure about that one either! I mean, when you are newly married or engaged that might be funny, but I know a lot of people have issues with infertility and would really be ticked off at that. Yikes!
Hahahaha! I haven’t gotten fooled in a couple of years because I remind myself the night before what is to come. About 4 of my friend’s have bdays on March 31st and somehow that always reminds me of April Fool’s being the next day!
That really stinks about your Internet provider! I hope they get some competition soon so you can get fair services/pricing!
I used to alway make a “fake” meal for the kids – like peas made out of Jolly Ranchers and things like that. They are on the look out for stuff like that now, so it’s much harder to fool them!
I probably would have fallen for the redbox thing too! I don’t think Ive ever used redbox and Im extremely gullible!
